They even know a few jutsu and are skilled with weapons. Enter with caution. Kill the bandits running the camp and the rest will flee.

He should be here soon. said Rei as he folded his arms across his dark grey flak jacket, now officially a Jounin and capable of taking in his own pupils. He had already picked his students and today he was taking one of them on a mission, another B Rank mission. Poor Takeshi had been sour on the return trip from their last B Rank mission. Being his first higher ranked mission, Takeshi had a lot of hype initially about how he had thought the mission was supposed to go. Rei had been very similar, expecting battles and stories of grandeur. Escorting such a spoiled prince was a major let down however, both for Rei's first B Rank mission and now Takeshi's. Akio hadn't been very social and Rei understood why, his last sensei had been killed needlessly and Rei had sealed the body for the boy who kept it and cherished it in a memory.

Takeshi was a young boy, a skilled shinobi but still a young naive boy. Rei didn't want the ten year old having a false sense of exhilaration in battle. Rei saw the young Uchiha as too eager to jump into a dangerous fight: Rei had never been that eager but he had quickly done dangerous things for the sake of becoming more powerful. Rei's accomplishments were many and that of a young age, where most his age were new Chuunin, he was already a Jounin with the scarred body and battle experience equal to a veteran Jounin. Did I arrive too early? Rei asked himself as he looked around to see no one by the gate of the village.

The sun had yet to rise, but Rei had sent Takeshi a falcon messenger with the details of today's mission. They were to meet up at the gate just before dawn and would go out into the forest by Kirigakure and hunt down the group of bandits camping not too far away. Rei had done a similar mission as a Chuunin, he had been careful and tactical, killing eleven out of twelve bandits in a slaughter. He had caused mass panic within their own group by disuising his shadow clones as their own allies and started a stabbing and slashing frenzy until everyone but one bandit was left standing with all of his bloody mutilated buddies dead all around him. Covered in blood, that bandit had run off screaming in terror. Rei presumed he would never return, but the Jounin Uchiha half expected to find that vaguely familiar face when they would face off against this next group of bandits. They wouldn't rush into a fight with a large group of bandits, often the element of surprise could turn the force of a battle in favor to the smaller force's tactics. With having a Genin along with him, Rei couldn't very well afford to rush into a large group of enemies even if they were likely weaker than he was. His firt priority was the safety of his new student. It would be another bad mark on his dark past if his first students died on medium level difficulty missions.

Finally Takeshi would arrive, Rei would look at the sky and realize that Rei himself had arrived much too early. Takeshi was indeed on time, so there was nothing to worry about. Rei would greet him with a friendly but cold wave. Rei was an unusal fellow, very serious and distant but held up a facade of peace and friendliness for the sake of others around him to feel comfortable in his presence. Good morning Takeshi. From this point on, you will be one of my students. As Kirigakure's newest Jounin, I get to pick my students, you were one of my choices. Rei had his reasons, mostly because he wanted to influence and help guide the younger generation of Uchiha shinobi within the village. Ready to go on this mission? It will be much different and harder than the last one. You might have to kill someone, I hope you have the stomach for that... Rei let his line of reasoning trail off, Rei wouldn't hesitate or bat an eye in the mission if it involved killing someone... but could a young boy? Rei would wait for a response from the boy to hear the young Uchiha's resolve and then he would nod as they turned and left the fron tgate of the village together and headed toward the forest where the bandits were said to be.

Takeshi was sleeping soundly on the futon on the floor of his room, in a corner, ignoring Kyoko, his annoying female cousin. He was sleeping really well because of all the missions and training exercises he'd been doing lately, so much he was snoring loudly and there was a bubble of snot being blown by his nose. He was all sprawled out all over the futon, just snoring away when all of a sudden, BAM! Something flew into the window of his bedroom, instantly waking the child, who had been dreaming about delicious bacon with maple syrup. He was really mad now to have been woken and found out he  had only been dreaming. He got up in a fit, and ran over to the window. That's when he noticed the messenger hawk. It looked like the same one that Rei-Sama sent to im a few days ago to go on that mission to escort the Brat Prince of Mizu no Kuni.

The small Uchha therefore opened the window after unlatching it, and the bird flew in, landing on his shoulder. The boy unclipped the messenger container from the hawk's back and toook out a tiny scroll, of which when unrolled, poofed into a large, normal sized one. He replaced the hawk's messenger cylinder, gave it a scratch under it's chin and said to it, "Thanks hawk!"

The bird replied with a screech, and it flew off, it's job done. Takeshi in the meantime closed the window, then read over the scroll. He was to get ready immediately and meet Rei-Sama at the fountain square near the village gates for their next mission. He was instructed not to leave behind any of his weapons, because the mission was a B rank mission in which they'd be actually fighting some foes. Takeshi's heart raced with excitement at the face of danger! he went hurriedly to wash his face, comb his hair, apply deodorant, and get dressed. He then equipped all his gear, and he ran for it, not caring if the sun wasn't even up yet.

Takeshi ran at top speed for the square. Thank the Gods that it was so early in the morning and hardly anyone was out. This meant he didn't need to fight for room int he streets, and he didn't need to see any annoying, disgusting girls. He just made a straight Bee Line for the square, and he'd stand there and wait for his Master, whilst looking around for him patiently. Luckily, it didn't take long for him to show up. When he did show up, he explained to Takeshi about the mission and that he might have to kill someone, wondering if Takeshi could stomach a death or more. Takeshi had seen a few dead people in his life. It's what happened when you lived in a Shinobi village. He also knew that part of being a Shinobi meant you had to kill your enemies sometimes, especially when thy were too dangerous to let live. Honestly, he didn't know if he could do it, but he had to think about the safety of the village. This made him think directly about his Father. He couldn't believe the day he'd come home, right after graduating, to see bloody bandages around his Father's face, and a bloody bandaged stump in place of a right hand. That was an example of something that couldn't be forgiven. The boy's face turned then, at the thought of the vivid memory, from a happy and excited face, to a face of underlined rage and anguish.

The boy said in a more emotionless tone than Rei had ever heard from him, "I'm glad to be on your team, Re-Sensei. I promise to serve you well, and become one of the best Shinobi in Kirigakure. I have to do it for My Dad, and my Family, and the Village. If I have to kill someone, so be it.", and with that, he followed the Jounin out of the village and into the misty forest. Little did they know, keen eyes were tracking them through the woods at this very moment.

As they traveled through the misty early morning forest, Rei thought inward about how Takeshi had responded. He was much quicker than the boy, but he paced himself to stay at Takeshi's pace: he needed to keep an even and comfortable pace to keep the young boy from getting worn out from exertion. So be it then... Rei said to himself in his mind. Takeshi was definitely the most cheerful Uchiha that Rei knew, but Rei knew of the unfortunate attack on the young boy's father. Being the other only male in his household, the responsibilities that his father couldn't attend fell to the boy. It was a good chance to mature, but Takeshi was much too young to be able to effectively shoulder such responsibilities. Without a doubt, Rei had remembered the face Takeshi ahd made and the tone of his voice: Takeshi definitely planned to take revenge on his father's disgrace. He had it inside him to kill: he would just have to tell himself that his killing was necessary to become strong enough to right the wrongs done to his father. Even then, some damage was permanent and the man would have to live with it, but at least Takeshi could avenge his father's disgrace. That would bring comfort to both of them.

These were the things on his mind as they traveled through the light mist as the sunlight began to top the trees and create a shimmering effect int he forest. Rei looked behind him to see Takeshi and make sure he hadn't run too far ahead of the young Uchiha boy, that was when he noticed shadowy movements following them at a safe distance: the early sunlight just happened to intersect with their form as they traveled to a new hiding spot as they followed the two Uchiha. Unsure of who it was, Rei wasn't going to take the chance of being followed all the way there and have the mission more difficult. As he landed on the next tree, he performed a skilled quick handseal and made a shadow clone of himself, directly in front of his body to prevent their stalker from seeing the clone. The shadow clone performed some handseals and transformed into a spare branch laying on the large tree branch the two Uchiha males were traveling from. Rei had done this in quick succession and barely slowed down his movements, so it was likely Takeshi wouldn't stop but keep following the real Rei.

As their shadowy stalker passed by the transformed shadow clone, it would turn back into Rei and grab at the person and shove them against the thick tree with a kunai to their throat. State your business! Rei's shadow clone demanded loudly in an aggressive manner. After having successfuly caught the stalker, the real Rei would have slowed his pace and reversed the direction the short distance and chance upon the scene and stand there idly as he would listen to the stalker's explanation, Takeshi likely close behind him.

The boy continued through the forest in silence, his thoughts on his father's condition. He swore that whoever hurt him was going to pay dearly. If he ever found them, he'd make it his goal to finish them off. That person didn't deserve to live. A little cold for our usually cheerful young hero in the making? Well, even your top rate knuckle head ninja had his moments of angst too. Takeshi had to think though, about this mission. He remembered from the academy and from seminars with his Mom, that if he neglected to pay attention to what he was doing on a mission, it could spell his doom. He didn't want to die yet, or be seriously wounded like Father, so he had to be sharp.

That being said, Takeshi performed the Chakra Sensing Technique. It'd be a good measure to keep track of the things that came within 500m of them. Any chakra source in the area could then be detected. When he performed it, a whole lot of stuff suddenly happened as if instantaneously. Rei was already on it, making and concealing a shadow clone. Someone was following them. Whoever it was had a larger chakra source than Takeshi, but a smaller one than Rei. So maybe they were  Chuunin or Tokubetsu Jounin. Takeshi picked up the pace, wanting to get as close to Rei as possible and keep his distance form the stalker. He grabbed on his back for a folded up fuuma shuriken, sliding it easily out of it's tube-like holster. He had his hand in the ring of it, ready to shake it into full form and throw it pinpoint at the target if they got in his range of sight.

However, he need not worry too much. Rei's concealed Kage Bunshin took care of the issue, grabbed the stalker by the foot and then grasping her completely and holding a kunai at her throat. Take shi followed the real Rei back to the scene, but kept a distance. However, he soon recognized the person who'd been following them, and he said,

"Sis? What are you doing following us?!"

"I was following you to make sure you were safe. It seems you're in good hands though...", the female Uchiha said coldly, gritting her teeth. She hoped Rei would call off his attack dog clone.

Rei hadn't paid too much attention to whether or not his student Takeshi had noticed or was prepared: being new to being a sensei as he was, it was a whole new experience for the Jounin to constantly remind himself that he was no longer just looking out for himself. The lives of his students also depended on him: it was a great responsibility. He mentally kicked himself as he stood there, Takeshi having been prepared, Rei hadn't anything to worry about, but he should have still planned in case something went wrong. Rei's clone slowly withdrew the kunai from the stalker's neck as they all realized that the one following them was no other than a Chuunin Kirigakure shinobi and further more, Takeshi's sister. Rei frowned as he regarded her, the last female who had gone on a mission with him was Rin and she had died whole protecting him from the man he was trying to kill to avenge his sister's death. Ultimately it had ended up with a Jounin present who dealt the final blow to the man, but not soon enough. You shouldn't be following us, we are on a mission.

Rei said in a frank tone, his shadow clone holstering the kunai and stepping away from the girl. She is already here though, it would be more foolish to send her back all along. We might as well take her with us: Takeshi, new plan. Your sister is considered a citizen on this mission, I am assigning you to protecting her. said the shadow clone, the real Rei nodded his agreement. The identical Rei's thought on the same line of reasoning and understood it, Takeshi's sister may have been a Chuunin, but she didn't have the permission to partake in this mission, so he would treat her like collateral damage. Takeshi's responsibility as both a shinobi and family was to protect her. Rei didn't want a repeat of his own history.

He didnt like the idea of having her along, but there was little he could do about it now. It's my fault, I was somewhat careless as we left. Rei secretly took the blame, all they could do now was finish this mission without a prolonged fight. The group of four, including Rei's clone, would travel at a moderate pace as they neared the location the bandit camp was said to be. They would stop short and Rei would begin a little instruction. They hid in the bushes not too far away, but still out of ear shot. When confronting a larger force, the element of surprise and understanding of your foe are your two greatest weapons. Undermine their confidence and they quickly scatter. Rei would turn and point to the leader of the bandits, their mission was to take him out and the rest of the bandits were sure to retreat. if a bandit comes this way, deal with him. Just watch. He wanted to give Takeshi a glimpse of how swift and brutal a shinobi battle could be.

Rei took the hand of his present shadow clone and gripped tightly, the shadow clone who understood the grip, immediately gripped back. Hand in hand, the two Rei's rushed through the line of brush and out into the open with the bandits. Rei lifted with his strength as the shadow clone lunged further forward and jumped upward, a single handseal turned the shadow clone into a fuma shuriken. During that moment, Rei had also jumped forward and the momentum of his throw of the shadow clone and the clone pulling him forward, he too transformed into a fuma shuriken: the two weapons sped through the air at high speed, slashing the throats of three bandits who were in the line of sight of the bandit leader. The bandits stood abruptly at the ambush and hesitated with panic as three of their comrades dropped to the ground, blood gushes from their lethal wound. The bandits were quick to react, jumping in front of their leader to block the two weapons.

The first weapon reverted back to its original form of Rei just as it reached the two front men. His hands grabbed the outer sides of their faces as the momentum kept him thrown forward. With effort, he pushed his hands inward and smashed the two heads together and breaking their necks: keeping a relaxed lower body, the impact with the two bodies caused his legs to flip over his torso and further carry him forwards.

The second fuma shuriken didn't make it as quite as far, one bandit had gotten caught in its way and mowed the man down with a solid strike to his chest. The weapon reverted back into Rei as he stood up quickly and rushed passed another bandit just as his shadow clone smashed two skulls together and sailed over the standing corpses. The bandit leader, who had seen his shadow clone take out his closest two body guards, decided to dodge the clone's backwards flip. The bandit leader dodged to the right side in a panic, the side where the real Rei was rushing. Rei reared back with his fist and punched forward as he lunged, the strike intersecting with the bandit leader's evasive maneuver and striking him square in the chest. The strength and momentum of Rei's punch was powerful enough to crush his ribcage and stop his heart. The man stopped his dodge midway and clutched his chest as a searing pain ran through his body and a loud snapping sound echoed. Rei and his shadow clone stood back to back over the corpse of the bandit leader with bandits all around them. Seeing their leader dead, the bandits had lost the will to fight back. Slowly they edged away from the two identical shinobi and made their retreat.

Rei stood there a moment with his shadow clone back to bad, both covered in blood and breathing somewhat labored as four corpses lay around them and the other bandits fleeing for their lives. Rei turned his head and sighed with relief as the hiding spot of his student Takeshi and his sister hadn't been in the direction the fearful bandits had run to. While taking out the bandit leaders, Rei had feared that maybe one or two of the bandits would run away in Takeshi's direction. Deep down though, Rei felt confident that the Uchiha boy was up for the challenge to protect his sister and kill someone if necessary. Fortune would have it that the bandits had run in the opposite directions though, naturally they would avoid the direction that Rei had come from in his sudden and brutal assault. So weak and yet the insist on camping this close to our village and raiding travelers along the roads, how foolish. he said quietly to himself as he contemplated the stupidity of the bandits, the foolishness of being so boastful and proud in their superior numbers that they could be defiant against a might village like Kirigakure. It was utter foolishness and the village only needed one shinobi to show them the errors of their ways.

With the bandit leaders dead and their group of want to be thugs scattered, this mission was considered a success. To Rei however, this was only a partial success. He had taken Takeshi on this mission to get some live action experience in battle, but instead he had left Takeshi on the guarding duty of Takeshi's sister. While maybe a Chuunin, the young Uchiha boy's sister wasn't assigned to this mission and was therefore considered a civilian ad not permitted to partake in the mission. The best Rei could do at that point was have Takeshi guard his sister and watch the fight from afar. It had worked out somewhat in Rei's favor: he operated best when alone and not having to worry about those around him. Having Takeshi hang back and protect his kin, had allowed Rei to attack with what seemed wild abandon and deal a crippling blow to the group of bandits. I'm sure Takeshi and his family will have a few choice words for his sister but... Rei didn't understand as to why Takeshi's sister had followed them secretly and then wanted to be a part of Takeshi's team?

Rei and his clone moved in sync as they walked towards the hiding position where he had left Takeshi and his sister. Once he arrived the short distance through the brush, he stood in front of them with a hard expression, stern because he didn't want either of them thinking they could take advantage of his willingness to take Takeshi's sister along on the mission. Truthfully it was just less of a hassle to bring her then send her back. It was less work and spent less valuable time then what they already had. I'm sure you had a good reason for following us, but it was foolish to try and be sneaky. You could have gotten yourself injured or possibly killed like that. He intentionally sounded harsh, it was foolish to try and tag along on a mission they weren't a part of, especially an assassination mission like this. They could have been injured or killed by either the attacking or defending party in the heat of the battle. Rei didn't want to be responsible for his student's darknes becoming stronger within his kind body.
