| Mikasa lay in her broad queen-sized bed with pink, thick blankets submerging her frame. Her bundles of half-black half-white hair was spread across the white pillow below the back of her head in a tangled mess. Her father Takuya, also of the Hyuuga clan, pushed her door open, peeking in. The walls to her room were a deep-shade of greenish-blue, and the flooring was pristine white without a speck of dirt prominent in it's fine, soft features. Takuya had a head of spikey, untidy white hair, and pearl-like eyes like any other Hyuuga. He was wearing his dull green night robe over a white long sleeve tucked into white pants. His feet were bare, lacking any shoes, sandals or socks over them.
"Mikasa, get up. Today you'll be training with your mother."
The white-haired male stated. She remained asleep, softly snoring. The male grunted impatiently, speaking in a slightly louder, more sharper tone.
"Mikasa!"
She shifted about within her bed, seemingly displeased by this interruption in her sleep. She moaned lowly, still shifting around as she turned from laying on her back to her side. The black and white-haired Hyuuga drowsily peered at her father with a narrowed, half-lidded gaze. "Mmmmeh... what is it?" Mikasa questioned. The male clenched his teeth, folding his arms. "Get up and get dressed. You didn't forget that you were supposed to get up two hours earlier to train with your mother, did you?"
She shook her head in response to his question, causing him to huff impatiently. The male exited the room, allowing Mikasa to ease her way out of bed and run her hands throughout the wardrobe across from her bed. She pulled on a pair of black pants, a fishnet shirt, a furry-collared white jacket, and a pair of blue sandals, then headed out of her house.

| Mikasa ran along throughout one of the many woodlands that littered Mount Hyuuga. Her Byakugan was active, but it wasn't prominent on her features due to the bandages beneath her eyes, and the sky blue contacts concealing said eyes. The girl finally reached the meadow where her mother was located. Mikasa's mother, Midora, was sitting with her back pressed to the tree, meditating quietly. The silence itself in this bright, sunlight illuminated, lush green forest was deafening.
"Kaa-san!"
Midora allowed her eyes to flicker open, her eyes also being sky blue because she wore contacts like Mikasa did. "Mm? You're a couple hours late. Let us begin training." She stated. The woman stood to her feet, wearing a Kumogakure single-shouldered white flak jacket over a black, sleeveless, baggy sweatsuit. Her long, partially curly black hair was tied into a long, flowing ponytail. "Now then. You'll be learning how to break genjutsu. After you figure out that I'm casting a genjutsu, halt the flow of your chakra completely, then surge it."
The woman formed five handsigns: Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram. After that, the black-haired Hyuuga clasped her hands together, triggering the genjutsu upon her child. Mikasa felt heat immerse her body, as though she was in one giant oven that had the owner turn the nozzle a bit too much. She looked up at where the heat was coming the most, above her. Her mouth went agape when she saw a massive ball of flames descend down upon her. She looked around eagerly, but found that her mother was gone. Panicking, she suddenly was struck by a wave of instinct. The female slammed her eyes shut and formed one handsign, halting the flow of chakra in her body completely, then surging it. The heat diminished from her sense of feeling, and when she looked around her mother was in front of her and there was no ball of flames.
"D-Did I do it?"
"Mhm... good job."

| "Now then... you'll learn how to summon animals."
"Can you show me a demonstration?"
The female went through the formation of the same handsigns as before: Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram. After doing this, she nipped the tip of her pointer finger, drawing blood by doing so. The Kumogakure chuunin pressed her palm firmly against the earth, smushing blades of grass beneath her hand. From a plume of smoke emerged a white snake coiled around Mikasa's mother's arm. It slithered free from around her arm, it's twin-tipped tongue thrusting out from it's gullet then receding into it.
"You'll summon something different."
Mikasa nodded silently, forming the same exact handsigns as her mother did with a little less finesse. Before she could form the Ram handsign, she was knocked off of her feet by a tenketsu-sealing dome of pure chakra that made her knock the air out of her lungs when she slammed back-first into a bundle of grass. She raised her torso, her knees slightly bent with her heels pressed to the ground and her arms supporting her ability to keep her torso elevated. Her sky blue eyes looked at her mother, who responded emotionlessly.
"Try again."
The black and white-haired Hyuuga formed the handsigns once more, making sure she was less sloppy with them. After doing so she bit her index finger's tip, drawing blood. She pressed her hand to the ground. From a gray plume of smoke emerged... nothing! Mikasa was confronted by yet another vacuum of chakra that knocked her off her feet and sent a more unbearable pang of pain throughout her body. She slowly stood up, allowing chakra to immerse her right hand briefly. She poked her own chest, unsealing the tenketsu within it to rejuvenate chakra flow to a normal rate. The chakra around her hand faded.
The Hyuuga began to form five handsigns again, gathering more chakra than before up in her body. She would then proceed to press her teeth to each side of her finger between where she bit it, drawing out more blood. She placed her hand firmly against the ground, her palm resting upon the earth. With the chakra she'd previously concentrated the girl called upon whatever animal she may've possessed. A plume of smoke was produced, and from it was manifested a newborn lion cub. The lion looked around, before curling up into a small ball.
Mikasa crouched down in front of the lion, extending her right arm out with an open palm. The lion opened it's eyes, uncurling it's body as it stood on it's hind legs, it's tail wagging. Mikasa maintained a calm look, being as emotionless as her mother throughout the scene. The lion pawed at her hand, stroking it with the fronts of it's paws. It slowly climbed onto her palm. Seeing that it was too big for one hand, she extended her other out, clutching her hands around it's chest and pulling it close, allowing it to rest against her upper torso. Her mother simply looked, thinking to herself:
'A perfect representation of how dominant she is as a main branch Hyuuga. Maybe she'll live up to the expectations she has in store for her?'

| Mikasa dispersed the lion, setting her gaze upon her mother. "Do you have anything else to teach me?" The black and white-haired Hyuuga stated. Her mother nodded, forming an odd handsign that her daughter wasn't familiar with. From a plume of smoke emerged a perfect replication of Midora. "I'm teaching you how to dodge." She stated. Both herself and her shadow clone's right and left arm aligned with eachother. Both fired a vacuum of chakra, which was much faster than the chakra blast Mikasa was struck by twice earlier.
Mikasa shot to the right, but before she could even get a chance to intervene with her mother's actions she saw yet another large blast of chakra be fired directly toward her. The black and white-haired Hyuuga pressed her feet to the earth, trying to recall just -what- seal her mother used, and why it enabled her to produce a carbon copy of herself. The Hyuuga was getting tired out from avoiding this endless barrage of chakra blasts.
'My mother's chakra is practically endless..!' She thought, breathing heavily by now. The girl eagerly pressed her fingers together, finally recalling and thus forming the handsign successfully. She surged her chakra, attempting to distribute it to a clone of herself. None the less, before she could even get the opportunity to surge her chakra, she was knocked off of her feet and sent tumbling into a nearby pile of thorny bushes by a blast of chakra. She emerged, her hair and the rest of her body covered in thorns, some of which had pierced her skin and remained burrowed in it with the top's sticking out.
She pricked out the thorns from her body, breathing heavily and gazing at her mother with a narrow gaze. "Ready? Vacuum Wall!" She and her shadow clone exclaimed, launching a blast of chakra at her. Now, she was slowly beginning to adjust to this rough training regime. The black and white-haired Hyuuga eagerly shot to the left, continuing to dash for the left and zig-zag torward her mother. Just when she thought she was getting a hang of this training regime, she was suddenly confronted with not one, large Vacuum Wall, but two Vacuum Palm's, one aimed at where she was going next, and the vicinity that she was currently at.
She zipped to her next location, pivoting her left foot as she attempted to skid to a stop before the chakra blast could hit her. Just then, her mother fired off yet another chakra blast as she attempted to form the Clone handsign. She was knocked off of her feet and sent airborn at least two feet off the ground, before smashing backfirst against the tree. She fell to her knees, slamming her face against the ground. Her nose was bleeding, and a pang of pain resonated throughout her seemingly weak looking body.
She sobbed with pain, having been unable to keep her false bravado up any longer. Suddenly, she was slammed into the tree again so fast that she couldn't even take note of who or what made her did it. A cold hand coiled around her neck, pinning her three feet off the ground with her back against the thick brown lumber. There was the culprit, her mother, partially choking her. "You call yourself my daughter? No daughter of mine cries." The female stated, her words dipped in toxic and slewn across the Hyuuga's heart practically.
The shadow clone beside her mother pulled it's left arm back and balled it's hand into a fist. Her mother balled her right hand into a fist while pulling back her right arm. "What do you say for yourself?" She stated in an emotionless tone, her clone and herself punching Mikasa in the nose before she could make her response. Her teeth chattered and tears fell from her eyes, blood flowing quickly from her nose. She was dropped to the ground on her butt. "I-I'm sor-sorr---.." Her mother's leg dug into her right shoulder, pinning it.
"What did you say?"
"I-I'll do better!" Mikasa exclaimed in a fit of panic. Her mother pulled away, walking away from her while murmuring something about a disgrace. It was at that moment that Mikasa had officially been triggered by words of such hate that exited her mother's mouth. She stood up, forming the handsign without a second thought and producing a perfect shadow clone from a plume of smoke. "D-Disgrace...? What do you have to say for me now... Kaa-san..?" She questioned, heartbreak in her voice.
"Took you long enough."

| "Come at me if you're so mad." Midora stated to her daughter. Mikasa was maliciouslly glaring at her. The black and white-haired Hyuuga girl rushed toward her mother at a decent rate of momentum, side by side with her own shadow clone. Her mother nonchalantly dispersed her own clone, before intending to confront Mikasa. Mikasa eagerly thrusted her right arm out, her hand cloaked in chakra as she attempted to strike her mother with a Gentle Fist infused strike. Midora simply caught the strike, using the Vacuum Palm technique to disperse her shadow clone. The woman then jabbed her daughter in the chest with a Gentle Fist-infused strike that wasn't too damaging, but also had enough chakra to knock her back and nearly make her lose her balance. Mikasa staggered back, then sprinted directly for her mother again. She suddenly moved forth at a speed that was quicker than her average, moving at a nearly untraceable rate. She'd applied her knowledge of taijutsu to hand-to-hand combat, using said knowledge to her advantage as she'd attempted to replicate the Body Flicker technique without the use of chakra, and only pure taijutsu experience. When she least expected it, she was confronted by yet another palm thrust to the chest, that sent her reeling toward the ground facefirst because it'd essentially paralyzed her body. Her mother caught her, looking down at her silently with concern. It seemed that she'd gotten -too- serious with Mikasa. While she wanted to be gentle and nice to her daughter, the Hyuuga clan didn't support the pampering of their clan members, since it apparently made them weak. "We're going home." Midora said in a lifeless voice. Mikasa had fallen unconscious within Midora's grasp. The woman lifted her into her arms bridal style, carrying her out of the meadow and back home.
