Case 004: Babysitter

Mission Detail:

Kaitekina knew Mister and Misses Aino were skeptical when they left her in charge of their six-year-old twins. They hadn’t questioned her ability to care for children three years her junior, they hadn’t really said much of anything about her age, but it had been written all over their face. She may have been nine and she may have spent most of her time locked away in a single building, but the blonde was good at reading faces - though she sucked with body language. With the couple doubting her capabilities, the purple-eyed child decided that she would go above and beyond her duties in order to show them they hadn’t made a mistake.

With the couple having departed at four in the morning, the two heading off on a mission, she had two hours to kill before the twins got up. She spent that time taking inventory of everything, especially items in the kitchen, whilst making several mental notes here and there. Breakfast would be cereal, an apple, and a glass of either orange juice or milk. She packed them haphazardly made but edible peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with an orange and chocolate milk. She wasn’t sure what dinner would be, but Kaitekina had plenty of time to think about that.

She had the twins dressed, fed, and ready for school at a decent enough time, the blonde lucky the school was right around the corner since there was only ten minutes before the gates were closed. She, personally, dropped them off at the gate. Kaitekina lounged around the house for the remainder of the morning and afternoon, picking the twins up from school at fifteen hundred. It took five minutes to get back to the house and she immediately tasked them with doing their homework whilst she checked the kitchen for something that could be whipped up for dinner. She wasn’t a cook, far from it, but she felt like she was fully capable of making them an edible meal.

Dinner was served at seventeen hundred. They ate and Kaitekina helped the twins finish off any leftover homework they had. She played with them for the rest of the evening, winding the twins down around twenty hundred as to get them ready for bed - she was fully aware that getting any hyper child to sleep was difficult. A bathe and game later, the twins were fast asleep. The Aino couple returned to the residence fifteen minutes later. They skipped pleasantries, too tired for idle chit-chat and so she was dismissed. With Kai probably already home, Kaitekina didn’t head for the administration building. Instead, she headed straight home.
