Description: A technique created as an adaptation for the fencer’s repertoire, this allows the fencer to keep his or her wits about her at all times and remain prepared for attack or defense at a moment’s notice. This allows the user to go into an attack or a defense, such as a parry, at any time, even when the user has his or her blade sheathed, without a speed or mobility penalty.

Description: A technique of the fencer used for defense with our without a parry, this allows the practitioner to maneuver him or herself quickly out of the line of attack. For instance, one may suddenly retreat form a thrust or turn one’s body aside from a slash to the inline or outline of his or her person. The timing of this makes it particularly deadly in live duels as the user will wait until an opponent is fully committed to an attack before dodging, avoiding the strike at the last second. Thus, the opponent will be caught off guard as the user can chose to instantly follow up with an additional strike or movement.

Description: The user will turn aside an incoming strike with his or her blade, knocking it harmlessly away. This ability comprises all eight of the traditional parries which can be used to deflect a wide variety of offenses from multiple angles. The momentum of the incoming strike having been deflected but not fully blocked will leave the opponent wide open, allowing the practitioner to enter immediately into a riposte or other attack or movement.

Description: A powerful and rapid thrusting or slashing attack which takes full advantage of the special rapier Kyuukei, this allows the user to thrust outward into an approaching attack or gigantic defense. Aided by a burst of chakra, the strike launches out the warped and destructive chakra of the blade in a large cone around the user. This chakra will literally shatter the approaching technique, destroying it and providing safety to the bladeswoman. For instance, a sweeping fire of lighting attack will billow around the cone but not manage to penetrate it, where a more physical assault, such as one of earth, will simply be shattered before it reaches the defender. This is ineffective against S rank abilities and cannot block them, though it will reduce their damage by two ranks.
