Name: Akutenshi Shiruda
Nickname: N/A
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height: 6ft 6in
Weight: 180 lbs
Appearance: Akutenshi is a very tall young man. His brown hair is styled to look slightly windswept in the back, and is parted at the front. Glasses cover his eyes, allowing him to see much clearer than he ordinarily would without the glasses. He has an easy smile, and bright blue eyes. Stubble grows on his chin, giving him a roguish, unkempt look, even though he doesn't act the part. Most commonly, he wears a black jacket with long sleeves, black dress pants, and boots. A blue dress shirt is usually under the jacket. It looks very classy, and has been modified to allow him easy movement despite how it looks, and it is covered in pockets and hiding spots for whatever he needs. His arms, from halfway up his forearm and up, are covered in small cuts and scars resulting from mistakes during his training. He keeps them as reminders of his hard work. Overall, he looks like a professional who was a bit hurried when waking up in the morning, which isn't too far from the truth. He does take care to make sure his stubble is trimmed and his suit nice and clean, as he doesn't like being messy.
Village: Sunagakure
Character Rank: Genin
Clan: N/A
Element: N/A
Personality: Akutenshi isn't very talkative. He's quiet, and only speaks when he thinks he needs to. He would rather listen to someone talk all day than give a speech himself. He doesn't feel like he was to answer or give commentary on everything the way a lot of people do. Unless spoken to, or unless he has something to contribute, he'll keep his mouth shut.
However, he does like to listen to people. Their stories, random thing they have to say, how their day was... anything. He likes listening, and is a very good listener. He tends to remain silent while other people talk, but does nod his head at appropriate times. He's not the type to talk back, though he can if needed.
He loves learning. It's part of why he likes to listen to people. He can learn so many things just by keeping his mouth shut, and every time he figures something out, he feels amazing about himself. It doesn't matter what the knowledge is, he just wants to know. He's very curious and even though he has a hard time figuring things out, it doesn't mean he doesn't try. And when he finally does get it, he gets so happy.
He also loves to help people. It's the other reason he likes to listen. If he listens, he can learn what a person needs or wants, and if he can, he can fix their problems. He wants to make his mother proud of him, wherever she is in the afterlife, and he also just gets a wonderful feeling itself from helping people. A friend in need is a friend indeed, after all!
He is easily bored, however, and has a hard time focusing. It takes intense concentration for him to center on things and learn, and he struggles with himself all the time. It's his major flaw, and when he gets bored, he acts out. He has a bit of a twisted sense of humor born from being abused as a kid and only studying all the time. He's a bit odd about it all. He has to force himself to focus, which just makes him upset as he hates that he has to do that. It's a vicious cycle that leads him to over stressing himself. Eventually, he fears he might snap. He doesn't want to find out what will happen if he ever does.
Character History: Birth:
Akutenshi was born 19 years ago, a few short years after Sunagakure had been founded. His mother was a trained kunoichi named Tenshi Miyame. She had been raised as a vassal to the Uzumaki, trained to protect and guard their interests from a young age. After Suna was founded by the Uzumaki, she met his father, a construction worker named Arashi Shiruda. Suna, being a fresh and new village, had needed many construction workers like him to help build the village. However, as he was a foreigner from the Land of Fire, he needed an escort to work in the new Suna. Tenshi was his ninja escort. As time passed, he wormed his way into her heart, and they fell in love. When all the construction was finished, he became a legal citizen and married Tenshi. Just a couple of years later, Akutenshi was born.
It was a hard childbirth. Tenshi was a very petite woman, who's body was not suited for giving birth. Many complications arose, and she passed to the pure world, leaving a crying baby and a horrified new father behind. Arashi blamed the child for all of this. He named the child he had concieved with the woman he loved Akutenshi, after his mother and for the evil luck he brought upon their family. Still, he couldn't hate his son, his own flesh and blood. He would raise the boy.
Childhood:
Akutenshi didn't have it easy growing up. His father blamed him for the death of his mother, and let him know it. He was harsh with the boy, and showed him a form of tough love that wasn't commonly displayed anymore. From a young age, it was harsh chores all day, studying by night. The kid never had time for himself or for any friends he might have made otherwise. Believing it was his own fault his mother had died, and wanting to honor her memory, he began studying medical jutsu as soon as he could.
He sucked at it. Anatomy, chakra theory, memorizing names and diseases and body parts... None of it was easy for him. He struggled the entire time. Every time he tried to give up, his father would beat him and make him feel guilty about abandoning his dead mother's legacy like that. So he tried, tried and tried again, and eventually he began to connect the dots in his head. Some of the stuff started to make sense. It was still difficult, but he could actually understand the material. He could do this.
So his childhood was filled with this and similar things, until he joined the new academy when he was 6. Eager to let someone else be responsible for what he felt was his wife's murderer, Arashi was glad to let Akutenshi join the school. He practically washed his hands of the kid. At school, the boy learned many things. Basic jutsu, how to throw weapons, and much more. More importantly, he learned it wasn't his fault his mother died. Still, he wanted to become an amazing medic to stop such accidents from happening in the future.
His life was filled with studying. Time passed, and before he knew it, he was 12. It was time to graduate, and so he did. However, the odd number of students meant he would not have a team. There also just were not enough jounin to cover all these children. He joined the hospital, where he learned more and more about being a medic.
Gennin Years:
In the hospital, he finally was able to learn his first medical jutsu- the mystical palm. He had though that, because of his years of intense studying, he'd be able to do it easily. It turns out that he was still only on par with the other students, for whom medical studies came to much easier than to him. He realized that if he hadn't spent years learning, he'd never be able to use medical jutsu period. However, the other students didn't need all that pre-training. He just sucked.
In the end, he was the last one to finish learning the jutsu, having exploded over a hundred fish along the way. Still, he DID learn the jutsu. He wasn't a failure after all. From there, it was hardcore studying. Year after year passed. He did missions occasionally, but really, he just wanted to learn medical jutsu. He practiced taijutsu as well, wanting to be able to provide combat support as well, and he did much better there, having some natural talent in taijutsu.
Still, he was now 19, and had juts finished his final tests. He learned everything he possibly could, and now was a fully certified surgeon and medic. It took him all his life, but he had done it. He was mastered the medical arts. Maybe now he could do something else. He was still young, after all. Who knows what could come next!
