Description: This is a simple genjutsu that the caster applies on themselves. This genjutsu alters their perception of time effectively halting time while transporting the user into an illusionary realm similar to a jinchuriki's lucid dream state. In this realm the user is able to view their memories for easier recollection, as well as investigate those memories in a three-dimentional setting. This technique is called mind palace due to the shape this realm takes. It is effectively a giant palace in which the users different memories are organized into different rooms for easier recollection as well as allow more details to be better recalled from those memories. Once the user uses this technique once, this will be the form his mind will take on should anyone try to invade his mind and will require those invaders to successfully infiltrate it's corridors to retrieve the information they want, using their mental avatar. In addition, as this is a mental construct, this palace isn't limited to the conventions of standard physics. Rooms can change shape at will, narrow hallways could become large open spaces, rooms that accessed one memory could suddenly send you to another one, even the dimensions of a room are individual to that room and don't effect the dimensions of another room as they shift. Description: This ability activates on it's own should another fail to attempt to access his memories or otherwise invade his mind. This jutsu can be placed in mental seals that can be placed on mental defenses, however doing so will require another jutsu to make the seal. Unleashing a seal with this jutsu costs no chakra, however the chakra cost must be paid when the seal is initially created. In the event of a successful mental defense, this ability sends a violent force feedback to the invader along their mental link knocking them back 10m and rendering them unconscious for 12 hours. Generally preventing them from attempting further mental invasions again within the same thread. This does not apply to all jutsu that effect the mind(such as illusionatory genjutsu), Only jutsu that are used to invade the user's mind directly, usually to extract information. Is commonly used in conjunction with Mental Guardians.

Description: These are Sentinels placed in and around the user's mind palace. They take the form of statues, gargoyles, and the like. 100 of them adorn the inside and outside of the palace walls. Once this jutsu is cast, the sentinels will remain as a permanent defense without a required upkeep. These stoic stone guardians are able to patrol the palace grounds quite freely as ghosts, phasing between rooms as they please. They only appear as statues when they are within someone's line of sight(outside of their own). However, the moment they have left that person's line of sight they move quite fast, quite silent, and by undetectable means preventing their detection by chakra sensory. This is because the chakra they are made up of, makes up the entirety of the mind palace including the seemingly empty air. Guardians can cover up to 40m of space within the time it takes an opponent to blink an eye. Should a guardian reach an invader they are instantly expelled from the user's mind using a mind spike. These guardians share a hive consciousness, allowing information one sees to be transmitted to the rest of them. Due to them being mental constructs, the guardians are indestructible.

These are cool.

Mind Palace: seems fine as a baseboard type technique.

Mind Spike: Should have a cost when expelling people. 3 days of unconsciousness seems a bit much.

Mental Guardians: These seem fine to me.

what if I doubled the cost of the guardians instead of the mind spike. generally speaking, the jutsu will usually be used by mental defences after the user has been rendered unconscious, or completely subdued to the point of exhaustion. further chakra exhaustion from automatic sources may end up killing me.

I may have misunderstood, but don't the guardians not have an upkeep? I'm fine with them having no upkeep since they're basically a fancy way of thinking, but if so, shouldn't the mind spike be the thing that actually costs?

Edit: if you're specifically worried about not being able to use it while unconscious or something, just say it activates subconsciously, which I'm also fine with. If that is an issue of course.

nah, it was just more or less worried about being KO'd at like 5 chakra and killing myself when it casts. I guess i'm thinking of mind spikes more like a seal that is unleashed when a guardian reaches an intruder, expelling the power of that jutsu on the intruders.

But I think I just might have thought of a work around just for that... just might require another rank and some skill points. Mind Seals, store the mind spike jutsu in a seal, and have that seal placed on all the guardians. Will require some pre-emptive posts prior to getting in battle, but should work as I intend.  I'll create that jutsu after I reach chunnin and can place a point into fuin. Razz

Look good then, but if you wanna knock someone out for 24 hours seems like B rank to me. But yeah 'pre-storing' the tech makes sense and is pretty cool.
